Massage
Joint subluxations, troublesome enough on their own, are almost always accompanied by tension or injury in your soft tissue, including muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. Soft tissue pain can actually spread because it causes protective muscle tightening in surrounding areas. Over time, this tightening will cause poor circulations and develop glue like adhesions. These adhesions are painful and can lead to shortening of the muscles.
Deep tissue massages aid in releasing the "glue" or adhesions that restrict these muscles. By removing the adhesions, the muscle can function at its proper length and state. It also improves that circulation in the muscle which helps prevent muscle hardening.
Why do I need Chiropractic Care & Massage?
Both treatments are necessary and beneficial on their own. However, when performed in conjunction with each other, the recovery from an injury is much quicker and more effective. Massage creates a loosening of the muscles and therefore aids in a more gentle adjustment. Adjustments tend to last longer when performed with a massage because the muscle tension had been released allowing the muscle to relax and not pull on the joints, causing subluxations.
